I think most people I know, consider me a mediocre pie baker. I bake during the holidays and perhaps a few pies in the summer. In total, I’d bet I only bake 2-6 pies a year. I’m pretty confident that that puts me in the “non-expert” category as a pie baker; even though I did work in a store bakery for a few years. I was essentially over the donut area; does that count toward being a pie expert? Clearly, I lack experience in this area; but I don’t lack passion. Let me tell you a little secret about myself. My pies usually taste delicious; but, they look like a toddler scraped them together. Honestly, sometimes they have come home from potlucks untouched. The reason I am telling you this, is so you will not be discouraged, and bravely put forth your best effort to make pies that will delight those around you; so you will keep trying. My hope is that through this blog, I can help make pie baking easier for others to experience. That a new generation of pie bakers will come forth and enjoy. It’s my hope that the wonderful American tradition of pie baking will continue to flourish now and for future generations.
Pie~One of the simple pleasures of life.
