Crust: 3 – straightforward
Filling: 3 – it reminded me of a hot cereal, like cracked wheat or a cooked granola. Don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, so 3 it is.
Overall: 3 – very unexpected flavor/texture for a pie but not bad at all. It was rich and nutty like a pecan pie but with the consistency of a gooey muffin.
Crust: 4 It was good light and flakey.
Filling: 5 I liked the taste and texture. A little crunchy with a taste of molasses.
Overall: 4+ You would not guess what flavor by looking at it. Nice 👍
My only comment: disgusting!!! Could not even swallow my first and only bite.
Crust: 2 It seemed hard and dark.
Filling: 3 I am trying to be open-minded on the filling. It’s oatmeal and molasses for crying out loud. Molasses is a strong flavor, it’s a little overwhelming in this pie. Too much of a good thing, unless you love molasses. Although, it has an interesting crunchy candied top.
Very hardy, but not for everyone.
Crust: 2 A little too thin.
Filling: 2 Love oatmeal. I thought I loved molasses, but realized I do…..in small doses.
Overall: 2 I will try this again, but try fancy molasses instead of black strap.
